Our Promise to You

2-Year Puppy Health Guarantee

Every Furever Perfect Pups puppy comes with a 2-year health and genetic guarantee. Here's what it covers, what it doesn't, and the few things we ask of you to keep it active.

Before Go-Home Day

What Every Puppy Comes Home With

Our vet checks every puppy at 6 to 7 weeks. By the time your puppy leaves, all of this is already done.

1

Vet Exam & Health Certificate

A full exam by our veterinarian and a signed health certificate.

2

Vaccines & Deworming

Age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, with the records in your puppy's folder.

3

Microchip

Every puppy is microchipped at 6 weeks. You just register the chip in your name with the National Microchip Registry.

4

30 Days of Pet Insurance

A free 30-day Trupanion policy. Please activate it, or have your own plan in place, before pickup or delivery.

5

2-Year Health Guarantee

Coverage for debilitating congenital defects and the listed genetic diseases for 2 years from the date of sale.

6

Lifelong Support

Questions at 8 weeks or 8 years, you can always call or text us at (330) 275-3611.

What's Covered

Two Years of Coverage

The guarantee runs for 2 years from the date of sale and covers two things.

Debilitating congenital defects

These are problems present from birth that are life-threatening, or that keep your puppy from being the family companion you brought them home to be. A licensed vet needs to confirm the defect in writing.

Breed-specific genetic diseases

These are the inherited diseases we test every parent for. You'll find the list for each breed below.

Health always comes first when we pair our parents, but no breeder can promise a dog will never get sick. The guarantee is there for the problems that good genetics and early care are meant to prevent.

If a Covered Condition Is Found

  • You can get a replacement puppy of equal or lesser value from our next available litter.
  • You keep your puppy. With proper vet documentation, you don't have to send them back.
  • We choose the replacement puppy, and the wait can be 6 to 12 months, as long as we're still raising that breed.
  • Color and gender aren't guaranteed on a replacement.
  • Shipping on the original puppy isn't refunded, and shipping for the replacement is paid by you.

Genetic Guarantee

Genetic Diseases We Cover

Every parent is DNA tested for the known diseases in their breed. A dog needs two copies of a mutation to be affected, and we never pair two parents who carry the same one. That's how we keep the risk of these diseases as low as possible.

Bernedoodles

Poodles

Maltipoos

PRA-prcdvWD1NEwSDM

Some conditions, like cancers, lymphomas and Addison's disease, can't be found with a DNA test. The genetic guarantee covers only the diseases listed above. You can see how we test our parents on our Health Testing page.

Your Part

Keeping Your Guarantee Active

A healthy puppy takes both of us. Here's what we ask of you once your puppy is home.

1

See Your Vet Within 72 Hours

Take your puppy to a licensed vet within 72 hours (3 business days) of bringing them home. Without this visit, the guarantee is void, so we suggest booking it when you reserve. Keep your puppy in a kennel or on your lap in the waiting room.

2

Keep Up With Vet Care

Plan on a yearly wellness exam, plus vaccines, heartworm and parasite prevention, and anything else your vet recommends.

3

Wait on Public Places

Until your vet says your puppy is fully vaccinated, skip dog parks, pet stores and other public spaces. Exposure before then voids the guarantee. No paws on foreign ground!

4

Spay or Neuter

Our puppies go home as companions on a non-breeding agreement. Spay or neuter between 8 and 14 months (for males we suggest about 12 months, but ask your vet), then email us the vet's certificate with the microchip number before your puppy's second birthday.

5

Keep Your Puppy

The guarantee isn't transferable. If you're ever unable to keep your dog, call us first and we'll find the right home together. Please never take one of our dogs to a shelter.

6

Good Everyday Care

Keep your puppy indoors, on quality dog food, at a healthy weight and well groomed. Hold off on hard, forced exercise until after the first birthday so growing joints aren't strained.

Not Covered

What the Guarantee Doesn't Cover

These conditions are common, treatable, or caused by things outside our control, so the guarantee doesn't cover them:

Viral illnessInfectionsParasites, including Giardia and CoccidiaHerniasHypoglycemiaStress-related illnessImproper bitesLuxating patellasRetained testiclesGrade 1 or 2 heart murmursThyroid and endocrine disordersCancer

It also doesn't cover accidents, injuries, poisoning, swallowed objects, poor diet, neglect or abuse. If a condition can be treated, it isn't considered life-threatening.

What No Breeder Can Promise

We'll give you our best estimate of adult size and coat based on the parents, but we can't guarantee size, coat type, color, shedding, allergy-friendliness, temperament or lifespan.

Vet Bills After Go-Home

Once your puppy is home, vet care is yours to cover. That's why we recommend keeping pet insurance for at least the first 2 years, when falls, swallowed objects and surprise surgeries are most likely.

Parasites Are Common

Nearly all puppies deal with parasites at some point, and the stress of moving can bring them out. We deworm before go-home, but treating parasites after that is part of normal puppy care. Ask your vet to check a stool sample at each visit.

If Something Comes Up

How to Make a Claim

If your vet finds a problem, reach out to us right away. Here's how it works.

1

Call or Text Us

Call or text Marlin at (330) 275-3611, or email us, as soon as your vet finds something.

2

Send Vet Records

A licensed vet needs to confirm the condition. Send us the related records within 7 days of the diagnosis.

3

Second Opinion

We may ask for a second opinion from a vet or specialist we choose. If we do, we pay for it.

4

Replacement Puppy

Once a covered condition is confirmed, we'll set you up with a replacement puppy from an upcoming litter.

If your vet finds your puppy in poor health at that first visit within 72 hours, you can return the puppy at your cost for a full refund, minus the reservation fee, with a written statement from the vet. If a puppy passes away within the 2 years, a necropsy (paid by the owner) from a veterinary teaching hospital or state diagnostic lab is needed for a claim. Please talk to us before any decision to euthanize, since doing so without our consent voids the guarantee.

Common Questions

Health Guarantee FAQ

Do your puppies come with a health guarantee?

Yes. Every Bernedoodle, Poodle and Maltipoo we place comes with a 2-year health and genetic guarantee, a vet health certificate, vaccine and deworming records, a microchip and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance.

How long does the guarantee last?

2 years from the date of sale. That covers both debilitating congenital defects and the breed-specific genetic diseases listed above.

Does the guarantee pay vet bills?

No. The guarantee provides a replacement puppy for a covered condition. Vet care after go-home is the owner's responsibility, which is why we recommend pet insurance for at least the first 2 years.

Can I get a refund instead of a replacement?

The guarantee is a replacement guarantee. The one exception is the first vet visit: if your vet finds your puppy in poor health within 72 hours, you can return the puppy for a refund minus the reservation fee. We can't refund for personal reasons like allergies, a landlord or a change in plans.

What happens if I can't keep my dog?

Call us first. We'll work with you to find the right new home. The guarantee doesn't transfer to a new owner, and our dogs should never be surrendered to a shelter.

Questions About the Guarantee?

Call or text (330) 275-3611. We're happy to go over it before you reserve.

This page is a plain-English summary. The signed Health & Genetic Guarantee is the official agreement, and it's the one that applies if anything here is different.
